NITRO: STREAM RACING
I served as the Lead Character Artist for the game Nitro: Stream Racing, and had the central role in establishing the general look and aesthetic of the game. I concepted, designed, modeled and textured the majority of the playable characters, and I created concepts for every stage environment. I created some of the environmental props, and I designed the logo for the game, as well as many UI and HUD elements. I worked very closely with every other member of the team throughout development, including animators, engineers, and the other 3D artists, and gave input on nearly every aspect of the game's visual development.

Hi! I'm Kristi Ruiz, sometimes known as "smearg", and I currently have the incredible privilege of working as a Character Artist at Nintendo Software Technology!I graduated from Laguna College of Art and Design with a Bachelor's degree in Game Art in 2018, and I relocated to the greater Seattle region recently. I've been working in the games industry for over 7 years now!I have experience in 2D concept, character design and illustration, as well as 3D character and prop modelling pipelines. I'm well versed in Photoshop, Zbrush, 3D Coat, 3D Studio Max, Substance Painter and Designer, Marmoset Toolbag, and more! I've spent a lot of time working with UI art and Unity development, as well. I have a deep passion for cute, fun and charming games, and my goal is to work on games that make people smile!Please look forward to my work on future releases!
